Youth Summer Program

AACCESS-Ohio sponsored a Culture Camp in the Summer of 2005. In this Culture Camp, students learned about
countries and their culture from different parts of the world. The students enjoyed listening to Music, creating a craft and
sampling one of the tasty treats related to each country.

There were 30 students enrolled in this program, and four volunteers ran the camp.

By the end of the summer the students engaged in a dynamic series of lessons that were geared to stimulate their
knowledge of all the facts that they have learned. In all, the students who participated in this camp felt that it was a
worthwhile experience and if they had the chance to do it again they would.

The Summer Youth Program 2006 ran from June 19 through July 20. Again, the children got to learn about different
countries around the world, make some crafts, and spend some time reading, and there was also time for the kids to
have fun playing games with each other. At the end of the program, the children enjoyed a movie and pizza to reward
them for their good behavior. It was a great opportunity to keep the kids up to date or catch them up with their reading,
writing, and math skills, the basic knowledge that all children need to succeed in school.
